Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals at Stechford are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement holds priority.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Stechford Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with specific age restrictions for certain vehicle types. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required and must have been held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Renters should also present valid identification and proof of their current address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Stechford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to assess the condition of the car. Any pre-existing damage should be reported right away. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. It is important to return the vehicle in its original condition, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges will apply as necessary. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as it was collected; refueling fees will be incurred for any discrepancies. Late returns may lead to additional charges, so please contact us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related charges that occur during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find full coverage details and excess amounts in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless otherwise covered by additional insurance. Negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will make you responsible for any resulting damage, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the booking type and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle may not be used for any illegal activities. Activities such as racing, rallying, off-roading, or other dangerous pursuits are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must be used only for its intended purpose, and you must adhere to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Stechford is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount you paid for your rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately once posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
